- Hold or expect to hold a doctorate in one of the fields of research that NSERC supports.

College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements: You must have completed all requirements for your first doctoral degree no more than two years before the deadline date of the year in which you apply, or by September 1 of the year of the award announcement.
English language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.
